Our white carriage, which has a dark green interior and undercarriage, is a draft horse size Vis A Vis, which means "face to face".  This generous size carriage seats six adults and is lovingly decorated with silk ivy and white wisteria, roses and baby's breath.  We promise to arrive on time to provide the same service as a limousine, with the exception that as a beautiful bride, you will not be hidden behind tinted windows and nothing but a carriage can give you the romance of a bygone era! No need to even worry about your the message the carriage conveys.  If we transport the bride and/or her party to the ceremony, in Old English print are the words, "Almost Married" which we change over during the ceremony so it reads, "Just Married".  Our horse Thunder is of a calm, gentle temperament, very well trained and experienced traveling in traffic. Many of our customers have chosen to bring a small snack for him....sugar cubes, apple slices or carrots, but his favorite treats are peppermints.

This is always welcome, with the groomsman feeding him as the couple look on, which makes for a darling picture!

The carriage and horse is transported in a 70 foot trailer and truck to your general area. After unloading, we harness  and hitch spotlessly groomed Thunder, attired in white flowers with his hooves painted and we travel to the exact wedding location you have mapped on your contract.  Our coach driver, usually Clairese and her husband Ron as footman, can be dressed in your choice of Victorian attire; or formal tuxedos with tails, top hats and white gloves, Western attire, Medieval even Gothic dress, almost any theme you wish.

We can provide a gentle, white horse for the groom to make his grand entrance, decked in the gorgeous red and golden traditional embroidered costume, complete with head dress and bells on.

Today, before the wedding car departs, the priest will place a coconut under the front wheel of the car and wait for it to be broken by the weight of the car. The historic significance of this is that in the old days the couple would use a horse drawn carriage and the breaking of the coconut ensured that the vehicle was roadworthy for the journey.  We are pleased to re-create a simulation of this tradition.

Unbelievably Beautiful Memories! ~ You will treasure for a lifetime the photos that can be taken using our immaculate carriage and horse as a backdrop. Be sure to mention to your photographer and videographer that you are using a carriage and plan ahead to stop at scenic spots along the route for brief photo shoots. This is something you don't want to overlook!

Flowers or Decorations ~ Your florist is always welcome to decorate the carriage with flowers or greenery matching the brides colors. You can also use ribbons and bows. (Please NO balloons or fireworks!)  While we use silk ivy and white flowers, we will also decorate the carriage with flowers in colors you choose.  This was a Valentine wedding.

Safety ~ Above is a beautiful bride on her way from her hotel with her Father and her attendants on their way to a safe beach access along A1A in Cocoa Beach.  We could also safely take them to their reception area, a local restaurant. The safety of our passengers and our horse is first and foremost with us.  We may have to decline your dream wedding based on the highways and roadways you need to travel.  Of course, you knew we could not go on the Interstate, or over a Causeway.   For a nominal fee of $35.00, if you wish, we can meet with you to plan a safe route for the carriage, or suggest places. All of our carriages are equipped with rubber-covered wheels, hydraulic brakes, lights and hazard flashers. They can be used day or night on public streets. As an additional precaution, if we feel the route you have chosen needs supervision, we will ask you to make arrangements for a police escort from the local station.  Sometimes, someone from the bridal party can follow a safe distance behind the carriage in an automobile with hazard lights flashing. The bridal party is also welcome to assume its customary position behind our vehicle en-route to the reception. As always a horse diaper  is used to catch any horse droppings.

Reservations ~ The day and time of your special event should be reserved early! We recommend reserving your day nine months to a year in advance to ensure the availability of the particular date, time and carriage you request.  We require a non-refundable deposit to hold your date. We adore working with your consultant and event coordinator...

Weather Conditions and Cancellations ~ We can furnish a lap robe for the use of the bride and groom on chilly days. We suggest that the bride have access to a shawl or wrap, if the day is cool. In the eight years we have been providing carriage services, we have only been rained out completely twice.  We will always come ahead if possible, as we realize the Florida weather can be different right across the street! However, if the weather conditions are extremely severe, we will be forced to cancel, which is no ones fault. We reserve the right to cancel the reservations if any weather warnings or safety hazards exist. Your deposit will be retained for our travel time and efforts in attending.

Rates ~ Our rates vary depending on the location of your event. However, our minimum hire is for TWO hours.  Do you know how long it takes the horse to travel pulling the carriage?  In a car it feels like no time, but with the carriage, it can take us up to a half hour to go just one mile. The length of time required, including photo shoots for our services and the mileage to your location will also be factors in determining the final cost. If you have any special requests, please feel free to ask. We try to customize the experience for every event. Your input is important and welcome!
